On Track Interview

This is a video of someone who is in our target audience watching and answering questions about our film. This helped us because it allowed us to see what our audience thought about our film.

Final Script

  • MALE COACH
Now, we were born ready
Come on Scarlett time too pick up the pace now
That's it feel the burn
Right we're gonna go jab jab, upper cut, upper cut
Competition in two days time, no pain no gain
Right in the core
Switch jab jab upper cut upper cut

  • FEMALE COACH
You're late go too your starting point
Round the bend

  • MALE COACH
on your marks set , (BUZZER)

This script in comparison too our first script is a lot less speaking and dialogue. The reason as to why we changed our script was because we changed a few of our scenes depending on where we could film and what we could film at a specific time. As a result of this, our guidelines of our first script completely changed, due too some of our scenes not even being acted out; one of the reasons being that a scene we wanted too film in a location within our school wasn't free at all when we wanted too film, therefore we had too improvise and change our scenes, hence the two girls having no dialogue within the film.

Film Poster Photoshoot

This is a collage composed together with a variety of the best shots from the photo shoot for our film poster. We believed that we needed to get a range of different angles too ensure that we could choose the best photos from a large majority. We took over 100 pictures and narrowed our favourite shots down into this collage.

We appreciate and are proud of all this images, not only because of the quality of the pictures but they are all original and the sunlight within the pictures make the film appear uplifting and motivating, which was our moral idea.

Overall, we did have a list of titles that were needed to be included into our film opening, however we decided finally on this order due too Fast Girls including a variety of different jobs within the film.

Institution Logo for On Track

We decided to use Travis' institution logo for our film because we felt that it was the best one out of all of the people in our group, and we also felt that it matched our film well.

Website Inspiration

With our film being mainly inspired by fast girls, we thought to immediately look at the fast girls website for some ideas whilst creating ours. We liked to idea of having an image of the film as the main background image with the film opening over the top. We also added a gallery page which these pictures were used in order to choose our film poster.

Representation

Our film 'on track' it contains different representations, all of which relate mainly to class and age. our main focus in the film are two young girls who are both aspiring athletes. both of the athletes have different personalities that are shown later through the film but in the opening  both characters are shown as hard working but have different classes, as shown through the types of shots taken and setting of the films. one character, Sophie is wearing old trainers and old muddy cloths. this is to portray sophist character as then that is less fortunate but has still got talent. our location for Sophie is seen as a rough area and quite out back compared to the other characters shots. her training scenes are not using any type of equipment or any fancy sets just the out door environment.

The other main character is a girl who shares the same hobby but with less talent and more training as she may seem to be the "cocky" one she has got well presented trainers and good use of equipment. This girl is dressed as if she is the next olympian as she will be wearing the full kit and will show confidence towards the other girl who is her competition. the reason why we decided to portray the character like this is that it will show emotion towards the other girl and it ill also bring out two sides of the audience depending on what girl they route on as it may be shown as the poor girl loses but has the most passion and bring out the emotion in the film or he wins and the rich girl is nicer by the end. it is up to the audience to take in all of the representations strategies that we have used to get the characters and the film across.

Institution

For our film we have decided to make it under an independent institution. We produced, edited and used the equipment required from a very low budget. For the making of the film we chose a specific target audience that will not be able to make it to mainstream cinema's. the institutions that are shown in the first part of the opening scene are, film four an independent company that suits our film and Towles productions this is my own production and is the mainline for this film.

Evaluation Questions

As a group we thought it was important that everyone had their fair share of evaluation questions to answer. It actually worked out well that we all had three questions each, this was because we all had to answer question 7 individually due to being in different groups for our preliminary task.

1. In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? - Sophie
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? - Travis
3. What kind of media institution will distribute your media product and why? - Sophie
4. Who would be the audience for your media product? - Renae
5. How did you attract or address your audience? - Renae
6. What have you learnt about your technologies from the process of constructing this product? - Travis
7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you fell you have you learnt in the progression it to the real product- All
